Anise Hayes, co-founder of Detroit-based nonprofit Atlantic Impact, was recently selected as one of three female finalists in the Jeep 6th Man Contest sponsored by Chrysler and USA Basketball. A production crew flew out from California to help tell the story of Anise and Atlantic Impact in a short 2 minute video which features Detroit. If she wins the contest, Jeep will donate $20,000 to a charity of her choice. What this really means: Atlantic Impact has a 1 in 3 chance of winning $20,000 to go towards improving the lives of at-risk youth—who are the future of our country!!!

Please help us promote and get the word out to vote for Anise through facebook once a day, every day, June 22-29.

About the Jeep 6th Man Contest:  The Jeep brand is looking for a “6th man” and “6th woman” who demonstrates the qualities of sacrifice, humble spirit, integrity, courage, and leadership every day in his or her community to join Jeep’s partnership with the USA Basketball team. The two winners will each receive a $20,000 donation made directly to the charity of his/her choice, a trip for two to attend a USA Basketball exhibition game in Las Vegas, recognition at the USA Basketball exhibition game, and a USA Basketball jersey.  Winners are determined based on facebook voting and a panel of judges which includes a Jeep employee, former NBA player Jalen Rose, and 2 independent judges.

We would like to give a special shout-out to the Detroit Public Schools administration team who made it possible for us to highlight our work at Southwestern High School in the video.  Also thanks to Southwestern High School teacher Deborah Wood, Detroit Board of Education Member Annie Carter, and national nonprofit buildOn Program Coordinator Alexandria Ballard for coming out to be interviewed!  Most importantly, thanks to U.S. Congressman Hansen Clarke’s Community Grants Coordinator Jacquise Purifoy who notified us about the contest opportunity!
